MIAMI BEACH-- THE ELDERLY ONCE OWNED THE AVENUES In polka-dotted tee shirts, they shuffle past mint green hotels. Their bellies overhang their shorts. Their lifelines sink inward. Any reassuring pat is welcomed by their backs, remembered there. Side by side, their eyes register the tides that leave imprints of spines in the sand.
