Sarah Rosenblatt - Poetry

    Fall

They eat under umbrellas at the lake
their follow throughs in sync with the water.

    Summer tilts off the leaves
and Fall comes in with a frankness
that meets the clothing head on

there are changes in the skyline
and in the patterns of the boats on the lake

    a new phrase
that had been mouthed around for months

    now wraps up
    on the horizon

that era slipping into this one.
